A beautifully unusual vintage Christopher Stuart Tempest bone china vase, model Y1510, featuring a dreamy underwater fish design in soft lavender, blue, blush pink, cream, and shimmering iridescent tones.

The flattened sculptural form is decorated on both sides with whimsical fish surrounded by flowing pastel bands, bubble motifs, pearlescent luster panels, and delicate gold accents. Depending on the angle and lighting, the iridescent areas flash subtle rainbow tones that give the piece wonderful dimension.

One side is hand-signed “Betty Cooper 1997,” adding individual character to this already distinctive decorative piece. The underside bears the original Christopher Stuart crown backstamp and is marked Y1510 Tempest, Bone China, Thailand.

The gently sculpted opening is finished with gold-tone edging, while the substantial rounded silhouette makes this equally attractive displayed empty as an art object or used as a decorative vase.
